EOYs. Don't you hate them?
You look at them and ask, "Hey. Where the fuck did the last 9 months go? It was practically January a month ago, I swear!"
Well, I do see it that way, so it's up to you whether you'd want to copy that as your FB status message. But seriously, there are good and bad sides to the end of the year.
Firstly, a lot of lessons become more fun. For example, art and music lessons suddenly become self-study periods. Bring your notes, bring your earphones and music players, and blast away.
Still, lessons become kinda stressful. Teachers start dumping work at you. I've gotten on better terms with my History teacher, because we've both accepted that I'm BrilliantButLazy, and we'd both be fine with each other so long as I do my work. Or make up a reasonable answer when asked to answer. I've also struck a deal with the Literature teacher, somehow, that if my total of the year is higher than 80, I get a free lunch from her.
Yay.
Once the EOYs are over, our class is most probably gonna go nuts. Sometime last week, someone ran a test on the speakers. They're decent, and they can pump out somewhat high notes, and somewhat low notes. I'll bring the RGB cables. My dad has a few extra that he won't miss if I come back before he does.
We're also having a class outing somewhere during the December holidays, with whatever money we have left from the class fund. Right now, we've got almost $200, so hopefully, we can book a chalet for the class committee, then have a barbecue. Or, class chalet, though it's kinda tough getting a good date.
Under no circumstances, are we gonna choose a LAN outing. No way. Let me put it this way. A quarter of the class will be playing, another quarter will be helping/making a nuisance. The other half will be somewhere else, most probably watching a movie, or slacking at McDonalds, mooching off wireless@sg.
I might invite Kelly back, depending on when the dates are. I've got a camp, my overseas holiday to Japan (where else?), AFAX scheduled for November. I'd rather have stuff to do, than be bored to tears. The new K-ON OVA was interesting, to put it mildly, but there's only that many OVAs you can make before people start rolling their eyes, and muttering that KyoAni shouldn't have rushed through the first 2 years of Sakura High in the first place.
After the exams are over, one thing's for sure. We're going out for a movie, straight away. Maybe, a quick stop to eat something. We'll most probably go to AMK Hub, unless someone finds a more convenient location. Besides, all we have to do is hop on 74, and chat like crazy for what, an hour, maximum. Also, AMK is a pretty good location for all of us. It's on the NS line, it's near the Circle Line, which connects to the NE and EW line. So, no complaints. For now.
I've downloaded all the Lucky Star songs too, mainly via a Youtube downloader. Megaupload's just freaking irritating. Default Joshikousei Nyan is one hell of an EarWorm.
YURI YURI YURI YURI YURI.
Yes, the first two are "lily". The last three are "yuri". As in, F/F doujins. The opposite to 801. If you don't understand, don't worry. You don't really want to know too much about them.
Back on topic, Universal Studios isn't a bad idea for future outings. I'm not keen on going there until the Battlestar Galactica ride opens. It's like Fuji-Q, except less mind-numbing speed, more dueling roller-coasters. The last time I've been to Fuji-Q was in 2008. In June. PSLE never was a concern, anyway. This time, I'm going for the 1:1 reconstruction of EVA-01. Oh yeah.
But still, even without the class outing, which stands a good chance of happening, there's still AFAX. Quite a few people I know are going. It's now up to someone to organize. That, or I could watch out to find out which days from their walls. Which means a lot of waiting, because I also want to watch Disappearance for real and not on a camera.
You know, that version of Disappearance, the only one which anybody can watch unless they were willing to fly all the way to Japan to watch it. The DVD's coming out on December 18. Quite long, unless you know the significance of the date. In the movie, that's the date the world changed forever. Also, the "three years ago" motif. When Kyon time-travels back 3 years, he checks the newspaper and notes wryly that it was gonna be a lucky day. Or, as WMG goes, 7/7/07. Thus, nice timing, KyoAni.
Right. I'm also stuck with a terrible flu at home. Fevers don't present much of an issue. It's the throat. Let me rephrase that. IT'S THE FUCKING THROAT.
Thank you, Caps Lock.
Now, about my throat. One thing I hate is that when I get the flu, which is practically the only thing that infects me, my tonsils, which are already abnormally large, swell up like balloons, and clamp on each other. It FUCKING hurts, let me tell you. Especially when I cough. The only way to force something out is blocked by two overly sensitive sacs that I have an overwhelming urge to remove. Perhaps I should try for a tonsillectomy…
Alright, ignore that. Fevers are a pain. They make you lethargic, present aches, and suddenly, I have an urge to wear jeans, shirts and a jacket, because I feel so fucking cold. Need I say more? I'll be glad once I've recovered.
I just woke up from a nap. My father was yelling to wake me up, and get showered. He calmed down once I did that. I've got an idea for a story that I want to try out. A nice and normal superhero/coming of age story. It's just that I'm playing almost every trope in there straight, zig zagged, or deconstructed.
Well, I'm back from the doctor. He was remarkably fast. I've got the standard antibiotics, fever meds, cough meds, lozenges and a MC.
Wow.
I'm so gonna use that tomorrow, mainly because it's valid for tomorrow only.
Mabel, Sore throat
