Over the last few days, I've been dumping a huge amount of Haruhi references into my forum posts. Another one of the regulars responds equally with all sorts of jokes and wisecracks. When we tried out a "No Speaking Thread", that is to say, everything is done through **s for actions, I acted as a guardian and threatened to delete anybody from the Matrix. She came up and changed her pic to Neo and battled me RPG-style on the thread.
When I resurrected the thread a few weeks later, I assumed the identity of Yuki Nagato and used my powers of data manipulation to fight her, who assumed the identity of Mikuru Asahina from the movie thingy in the HS light novels.
Then when I moved on to a "Vending Machine" thread, I posted:
...I got a bunny suit!
I pushed in a coin into the Vending Machine and...
...I got a cosplayer!
I pushed in a coin into the Vending Machine and...
...I got Haruhi!
I pushed in a coin into the Vending Machine and...
...I got Koizumi!
I pushed in a coin into the Vending Machine and...
...I got Kyon's stash of Mikuru's pics!
I pushed in a coin into the Vending Machine and...
...I got a Closed Space! How the heck did it get in there?
I pushed in a coin into the Vending Machine and...
...I got the Organization!
I pushed in a coin into the Vending Machine and...
...I got The Fall of Hyperion!
I pushed in a coin into the Vending Machine and...
...I got Yuki's bookmark!
I pushed in a coin into the Vending Machine and...
...I got Asukura!
I pushed in a coin into the Vending Machine and...
Well, next thing you know, the whole thing became filled with Haruhi-related items. Including Shamisen, Kyon's sister, the island which they went to, the Integrated Data Sentient Entity, the Cave Cricket and even North High itself.
After a while, I kinda figured that whoever this person is, she ain't normal. Everywhere I go, she's there. We compete to put up sarcastic comments about stupid stuff, like when a beggar was asking for a loan. I helpfully gave a list of cheats that are basically internet memes. She comes along and gives him a few in-game links and reminds him that if he clicks them in the correct order, with the correct intervals, he'll earn money.
So, today, I was on the MRT, posting away on my laptop on the forums. Believe it or not, somebody recognized me!
But that's not the point, apart from inflating my ego.
The point of this post was that I met Kelly on her way back home because I stopped at Northpoint to buy a Subway. When I got back on, I met Kelly, and I lent her my laptop because she lent me her iPod so many weeks back. She immediately went onto the forums I logged out off, and logged in.
She went back to the Vending Machine thread and replied to me. Before she could move on, I stopped her, and logged into my account on a different browser.
Her mouth opened, and she cursed silently.
Indeed, 2 of the most influential jokers on the forums have just met up, and right now, our thread declaring our shock has got a hundred plus posts. We're most probably getting into the next Summary Thread. It isn't often you see two bigshots in the forums who banter with each other so often turn out to be damn good friends IRL, who keep both lives separate so well. In my defence, I'd like to note that I've managed to juggle all sorts of stuff, and stress for who knows how long, without losing my sanity. How tough is it to do that?
Yes, our sigs are gonna link to each other. :D
