Yeah. We're officially off the air, at 12 midnight, Singapore time. It was quite the coincidence, as I fell asleep minutes before that. Darn.
I wanted to be first in the comment thread.
Okay, back on topic...
We have shut down our summaries. IRC, fanpage and archives are still up, somewhere. We've broken our own record, with 180+ posts on the comments, and still growing. It's 19 hours and 21 minutes since we closed, and we've got a few guys taking over our spot already. We've let them. They can take our spots, and we'll give them advice.
Lots of it, if they have to. Our template is still ours, though.
We're giving thanks to each other, in the comments.
Most of them say similar things.
KJC was the person that came up with the idea, and was the first poster. She roped in other people like JC, who was, as Dave put it, "One of the most amazing people I have never met. And I have never met the admins and devs."
Doug was the superglue that kept everyone together, even during the hiatus, where they brought in people like me to keep the project alive.
There was TheOracle, who'd keep rambling about stuff in the IRC channel. My ramble on music a few months back was inspired from her.
Misty popped in every now and then if we needed an extra pair of hands, and would rip to shreds stupid threads. That was where I learnt how to deconstruct, and it became one of my favorite tactics.
Tofu. Well, he IS a regular sight in the forums, and he has quite a reputation for screwing around and pissing off people, all in good fun. You better not repeat the Russian incident.
Glen was one of the more prolific fanfic author on the boards. As a whole, we've wished him good luck in his fanfics, though I won't be surprised if his current fanfics moves towards End of Evangelion-style. Let's hope that doesn't happen, shall we?
NuttyNicky was, for a short time, our Aunt Agony, who regularly prescribed the worst possible advice, in a highly offensive manner. For example, after the Haiti earthquake, she wrote to a lovestruck man that he should write to his crush "Unlike the people in Haiti, my love will never die." And that was one of her less provocative suggestions.
We stopped after the mods warned us.
Twiggy was the main guy who filled in for the senior editors when they went on hiatus, along with me and another guy. He was rather shortlived, mainly because the hiatus was a week-long. Most of the time, he would sketch out the framework of the post for us. I would usually ignore it.
As of writing, OpenSesame, as he changes his name every week or so, has the IRC to fall back on. He pretty much stays on IRC all the time. There's a great crew there. Almost as great as us. :P
KeithMoonMoonedUs was seen by most of us as one of the most addicted to the forums, and has already made huge contributions, like how how used to make weekly comics.
Finally, there was moi. The general consensus was that I've got a bright future, and they hope that I'll find something that can hold my boundless imagination.
Aww... Thanks, guys.
I don't know what to do now that it's gone. Maybe I should start writing fanfiction? It was always nice to write out my feelings in stories. It's cathartic.
Besides, I need to thank everybody, right?
The Catharsis of Mabel.
Yeah, that sounds nice.
