Sorry for not posting.
I had issues in Real Life. My computer decided that it would be more fun to stop working.
This led to me writing a lot in my iPod Touch. And listening to all my songs. And listening to the orchestral version of a ton of SuzumiyaHaruhi songs. Yuki Muon Madobe Nite is most epic when rendered in that format.
And, learning piano songs.
And, well, I do a lot to occupy the time I usually spend on the computer.
I've started lurking more on the forums. I don't see the point of posting so much anymore. Back when we still went scouting, a post from us can generate great excitement, because practically all of top 10 topics got there because of us linking over to there. Now, well, nobody cares anymore.
So much for the decisive end. In the end, the three replacements died out in less than a month. You need more than forced dedication, and an autocratic/democratic/delegative system.
You need dedication. You need a group of people who are dedicated to it, who are willing to sink hours of their life to report the news. You need people who are interesting, who are capable of making people laugh, make people go and check out their references, and seamlessly weave together something that doesn't look like a bunch of links with terrible links.
Lastly, you need to look professional, and adapt your style to suit your readers' comments. One of them died because nobody liked their "script" format, and their overuse of slapstick and poorly written jokes.
Most of all, invite people, not go on a recruitment drive. When you go off-air, hire the people who immediately takeover, and write stuff which people love. If nobody writes, then you know something's terribly wrong with your style. You need people who like your threads, and read it whenever they find it. You need people who love your threads, who will stake out the place, and offer praises. And, you need fanatics, who will offer constructive feedback, encourage you when things are slow, and defend you from flames when it's a slow news day. Invoke AscendedFanboy on the obsessed fans who are talented writers.
Rant over.
So, yeah. Kyon: Big Damn Hero has risen to far greater heights than I'd ever imagine. I looked back at my pieces, and my goodness, my pieces have all been affected, or at least, modified to pay homage.
Every piece set in the Organization Universe (ShoutOut to SCPFoundation) have excerpts of appropriate fictional documents attached to them. All of them have been rewritten to be filled with tropes. I have female stoic characters with blue hair, youthful looks that are named after WW2 Japanese battleships too.
Most of all, there are no continuity errors. You can arrange everything, based on the references to each other.
Some people I know have entered the CAP Mentorship thingy. It sounds fun, yeah, but there are some people I really want to be my mentor. Mainly so that we can just chat.
Never mind. I'm off to catch up on K-ON!!.
Sigh. That's the problems with school-based Nakamas. In the end, when everybody leaves, it becomes really heart-breaking, especially when you've become so damn tight-knit. Your brain keeps telling you that it will never end, until the end. It's worse on the OnlySaneMan at that point, Mio, when she realizes that there will be no more summer days spent sweating with her bandmates, no more training camps, no more cake and tea with Mugi after school, no more school festivals, and Azusa will be all alone.
Then, we have them all crying.
Yeah, that would suck.
Mabel, looking for a Nakama.
